ITU-TRNC undergraduate programs are chosen from programs which serve in maritime field attending to geographical position, regional and global requirements.

  • Maritime Transportation  Management Engineering 
  • Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering 

  Marine Engineering 

Following 1 year English Preparatory school and 4 years of undergraduate education, graduates of Marine Engineering Department become entitled to get the diploma of ITU-TRNC Marine Engineering. In this department, education includes A III/1 and A III /2 curriculum programs in STCW Convention as specified by the Seamen’s Regulations. Education provided by the department meets the conditions required by Oceangoing engineer officer and Oceangoing Chief Engineer which are obligatory in national and international marine industry. In addition to four years of theoretical and practical education, students get 12-month long practical marine training, and thus, they get the right to become an “Oceangoing Chief Engineer” in accordance with STCW. The graduates of this department can find employment in trade, ships, shipyards, maritime lines and factories.

 

Maritime Transportation Management Engineering

Following 1 year of English preparatory school and 4 years of undergraduate education, graduates of Maritime Transportation Management Engineering Department become entitled to get the diploma of ITU-TRNC Maritime Transportation Management Engineering.  Education includes A II /1 and A II/ 2 curriculum programs specified by STCW Convention. Education provided by the department meets the conditions required by “Oceangoing watch keeping officer” and “Oceangoing Master” which are obligatory in national and international marine industry. In addition to four years theoretical and practical education, students get 12-month long practical marine training and thus, they have the right to become an “unlimited watch keeping chief officer” in accordance with STCW.  The graduates of this department can be employed in maritime lines and trade ships.

 

Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering

Following 1 year of English preparatory school and 4 years of undergraduate education, graduates of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Department become entitled to get the diploma of ITU-TRNC Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Graduates of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering will get a continuously developing education consisting of basic maths and engineering training with current design and manufacturing techniques. The purpose of this program is to provide the students with communication, decision making, problem solving, leadership, and administration skills; besides, they are expected to keep up with the latest developments in the field. Moreover, students will get the right to become an “Oceangoing engineer officer” following an additional education.
